Very common in North America and found almost anywhere there are open spaces. Both male and female are brownish-gray with pink on the breast. Their song is a series of low "coos".

 

One of the most popular and well-known birds in the east. The male can be easily identified by its brilliant red color and crested head. Commonly nests in gardens and thickets.

 

A plain, gray bird known to sing up to 30 different bird songs in a 10-minute period. The only songbird to sing at night. Feeds on insects, berries and fruit during the summer and at feeders during the winter.

 

A feisty little bird with gray-brown plumage and yellow wing patches. Diet consists mainly of seeds from trees and weeds as well as insects. Can be a frequent visitor to bird feeders.
